The Road To 2012 NYC Marathon – Summary of T-49 Week.
Highlights:
- Completed C25K Week 2, started Week 3. Still feeling comfortable so far. Looking at schedule, Week 4 is where I expect to start to feel a bit pushed (2 x 5 minute running blocks).
- Books, books, books:
-
- Skim read the first two. Just trying to get the highlights of each initially.
- Identified some races to enter into locally. The Run Nassau/Long Island Marathon series has some 5k – 5mile races scheduled from Feb – April, culminating with the Long Island Marathon in early May. Now, I’m not crazy (completely). Won’t be signing up for LI Marathon, but the question is should I sign up for the 10k or the Half-Marathon that they also run on that weekend. It’s setup to be 1/2 way to the NYC marathon. I’ll see how Jan goes and sign up.
- Also identified another running group organizing stuff, but it’s more NYC based, and literally all over NYC. Not sure I can be bothered to do that much commuting even though they have a LOT of events. Will keep an eye out.

I thought that Saturday was Day 1, Week 4 of C25K for me, and I was nervous about the 5-minute blocks, but I cranked through the first one AND the second one. Turns out, it was Day 3, Week 3. Today will be 1,4, so we’ll see how it goes …
So glad you’re doing C25K! I need to get my ass back to running.
