The Road To 2012 NYC Marathon – Summary of T-20 Week
So this was supposed to be Week 2 of non-running and healing. Did I rest? Not a lot. Did I do my stretches? No. Did I ice? No. Did I avoid running? No I was dope. I did some treadmill work during the week for two sessions of 2 miles. Not bad. And I mentioned that I felt the need to get some exercise Saturday night after too much dessert at a BBQ. I was going for 6 or 8 miles. However, after 3 miles I was not feeling right and had to stop.
Sunday, went for another swim. Felt a lot better after the swim, but the knee and leg is not feeling great overall. The part that disturbs me is that the discomfort has moved around, making me question the self-diagnosis. Part of it is over-compensation for the original issue and part of it is doing different exercises than I am used to.
I am going to have to take it easy this week and focus on resting, icing and stretching. I have 3 more weeks before I need to get going.
