Wow .. just wow. What .. A .. Week. I’ve mentioned it’s been a busy summer with work. This week was insane. I averaged about 4 hours a sleep this week (ranging from 90 minutes to a glorious 6 hours on Thursday night, mostly around 3-4 the rest).
First off, the food intake increases when you are awake that much. Sleeping is a fantastic eating preventative. When it’s 2AM and the you still might be up another hour, a snack starts to seem reasonable. Second, being tired leads to poorer decisions during the day. There was a big breakfast on Wednesday to hold me together a bit. Willpower is also a lot harder. There were plenty of brownies and cookies floating around last week and I went from my near perfect record of ignoring it to a near perfect record of eating it. And lastly, I fell off the wagon a bit. Food choices at times were bad, and I used food for comfort a couple of times, such as Friday night’s ice cream run.
The good news is I got my exercise in despite the time spent working. And I recorded my food for most part (some quantities may not be so accurate but it’s in there). The bad news is this upcoming week also presents some challenges, mostly in the logistics and planning areas, rather than stress. Wish me luck.
