Not a good week at all.  Or more accurately a fantastic first half, terrible second half.  First half of the week, the mystery pounds that decided to show a few weeks ago decided to leave just as mysteriously.  Was melting a pound a day for first couple of days.  Now they are back, but it’s no mystery.

A short notice event at work on Wednesday involving platters of cookies, brownies, cannolis.  I was controlled but it was un-budgeted for but the mid-week run helped.  Then on Thursday I decided to allow myself a breakfast variation to avoid an even bigger (badder) breakfast variation.  Which wouldn’t have been too bad.  But then a vendor brought in a platter of cookies from Levain Bakery.  These cookies are monsters (they are like muffin sized).  I knew they weren’t going to be good for me.  I did not know how not good for me.  Those cookies are like 800 calories a piece I found out.  In shared pieces, I probably had more than one.  Friday/Saturday unfortunately, involved a 22 hour work day.  Between the amount of time awake and the tiredness / poor judgement tiredness brings, Friday and Saturday were a bit over budget as well.

…Now off to the road!  I have some serious calories to burn.

The Road To 2012 NYC Marathon – Summary of T-8 Week

Week 9 of training – 4, 7, 4, 16.  Breaking in the new shoes.  Got a blister on the long run, hopefully not going to be an ongoing issue.  16 miler was 4-5 minutes faster than my 16 milers in May.  Felt a lot easier going from 14 to 16 than last time when it was 13.1 to 16.  Actually maintained sub 9 minute average mile even with walk parts.
