T-21 – Pushing Time
Still killing time until mid-July. Focused on cardio at the gym. Really trying to get the weight down a bit. For the speed and for the ease on the feet and knees (and to get the weight off). Did another 6 miler outside Sunday. Summer is definitely coming. Will need to get going a little earlier as we get into it to reduce heat.
As with last week, was pushing on time. Had a good first two miles. Then it was pretty ugly after that, with more walk breaks than I’d like. But at 1:01:25 (including 5 minutes either end of warm-up/cool-down) one of the faster times I paced that distance for, even last summer. Once a week runs outside (we will not be even looking at the treadmills until we have to in mid-July) at this distance seem pretty reasonable to continue for the next few weeks.
